With over 15 years of wedding photography experience, including over 1200 weddings photographed, here are some of the best tips I can share.

I invite you to read these 5 simple tips I learned when managing timelines, photo sessions, ceremony rules, first looks, families, bridal parties and of course beautiful brides and grooms.

Keep in mind, every wedding is unique and each couple we work with has different needs and timelines, so adapt these tips to your wedding day.

Tip 1

Take Engagement Photos

Most couples plan to take engagement photos and I certainly encourage it.

During the engagement session we give each couple posing tips that allow for great wedding day photos. These tips are meant personally for each couple. We are looking for height differences, facial features, smiles, eyes and even body language. This info will give us some great tools to make your wedding day photos amazing.

The engagement shoot images can also be used for Save the Date cards and other wedding decor as well.

A real popular item we design and print for couples is the Signature Guest Book. This book is left near the table cards for your guests to sign and leave you a love note on your wedding day.

Tip 2

MUA timing!

The morning of your wedding will be so exciting! The hair and makeup arrive really early, the flowers, next thing you know... the photographer is here....

Will you be ready? We love prep shots! The bride with all the bridesmaids on the bed wearing robes is a must have shot for sure. (don't forget to steam the wrinkles out of the robes)

Planning on your beauty team to be finished an hour before we arrive will keep things on track. If the beauty team runs late you will miss out on some great photo moments.

Tip 3

First Look Transportation

If you are planning a first look, plan on having 2 limos or rides involved, 1 for the bride and one for the groom.

Time spent dropping the guys off, then driving back for the bride, is valuable time you wanted to use for photos so you can get amazing images and get to the cocktail hour!

Tip 4

After Party Food Truck

What a great time! Pizza, Pretzels, Donuts, Grilled Cheese and more can be delivered on a food truck! Guests love this and it makes for great photos. Express your gratitude and your personal style as your guests say good night.

This is a Must!

Very important when we are creating your wedding day memories for sure. We work together as a team and help each other out with posing and understand the story we are looking to create.
